We got the results from the regular tests and from the last MRI, and it’s all very good!
We are so happy to let you know that only halfway through the treatment, all the genetic markers are in the reference range (EGFR – epidermal growth factor receptor; VEGF – vascular endothelial growth factor; HER2 – human epidermal growth factor receptor). Also, the MRI of the brain and spine has shown no abnormal enhancement or signal to suggest the presence of any metastatic disease.
Our prayers and yours are definitely working! Thank you again for all your support,
Sorin and Violeta
Diana is feeling pretty good so far; some days she’s full of energy and playing all day long, other days she’s tired, in pain and sleepy. Luckily, she is home schooling until the next scholar year.
The treatment started in March and will be going on for six months. We would like to thank everyone who made this treatment possible for Diana. Special thanks to Ramona D, our host down in Texas: you have been of so much help and we’re deeply grateful.
We would like to remind everyone that on May 16th 2010 at 12:00pm, Saint Dimitrie Church in Easton, CT will hold a fundraising dinner for Diana. For more information, click on this link www.stdimitrieeaston.org or call 203-261-1149. Thank you,
Sorin and Violeta
After considering the possible devastating effects of a proposed radiation treatment at the Yale Hospital to Diana’s brain and spine, and the fact that her body and mind are still developing and this will only add to the number of possible side effects, we decided to seek alternative treatments.
For anaplastic ependymoma, treatments are still in different clinical trial stages, as regulated by FDA. We found a better, less damaging approach to treating cancer in Houston, Texas, at the Burzynski Clinic. Hippocrates’ “First, do no harm” philosophy is well applied to how their antineoplaston therapy and personalized treatments help the body’s natural defense system fight cancer.
We were very impressed by the warmth and welcoming nature of everybody over there, and we feel that after they answered our questions, we’re in good hands. Diana had to go through other tests and examinations, to help the Burzynski Research Institute and the medics at the Burzynski Clinic tailor a treatment strategy for our daughter.
In the meantime, she had another MRI that showed that are no more measurable tumors on her spine right now. The news made us very happy!! We want to thank you all for your valuable support.
God bless you!

On December 18th, 2009 an MRI showed that Diana developed two tumors on the spinal cord. After the holidays she underwent a Laminectomy. Currently she is in the healing process.
Now we are trying to find different alternative treatments, because radiation therapy for a recurrent tumor is not a solution anymore.
Please feel free to contact us or donate to help us fight ependymoma recurrence.
